The Ghost Cage has been updated and is now on Steam too!

In conjunction with the release of The Ghost Cage on Steam as a free game, I've updated the version on Itch.io as well (to version 1.1). The biggest addition to the game is achievements, which will help you keep track of which ending you've unlocked, among other things (although if you want to activate Steam achievements, you'll need to download the Steam version instead). The full changelog is below.

Although The Ghost Cage is not a horror game, I decided to release it on Steam now because October seems to be an appropriate month for a game featuring a ghost (though it's not a scary one!), and also as a homage to Oscar Wilde, whose birthday was October 16th. The idea of a ghost whose reaction to you depends on how you treat it and a couple scenes in this game were loosely inspired by Wilde's humorous short story The Canterville Ghost.

By the way, because of how achievements are tracked, savefiles from the old version are unfortunately not compatible with the new version so you'll have to start a new game after downloading the new version. Sorry about that!
